The science behind the study

Why this study matters

From their parents and surroundings, babies inherit unique gut microbiomes that play a critical role in their health and development. Understanding the infant microbiome and its response to probiotics will help us gain actionable insights that can impact long term gut health and immunity.

What is a synbiotic?

A synbiotic combines probiotics and prebiotics to promote a healthy gut microbiome. Our study investigates how a synbiotic supplement could help shape your baby’s gut health.

Did you know...

Babies born via C-section miss out on exposure to beneficial bacteria found in the birth canal, which can play a critical role in their early gut microbiome development.

 Supplementation

Caretakers will be provided with supplement (synbiotic or placebo) and be asked to provide the supplement once per day for 28 days.

How the study works

Simple participation

Throughout the study, we’ll guide you every step of the way. You’ll collect four small stool samples and answer short questionnaires using an app designed to make the process easy. Don’t worry, we’re here to support you.

Your support is key

Your contribution will provide valuable data to help us learn how synbiotics may impact infant gut health.
